Construction started April 28th of 2006,  this marked the one year anniversary of
the opening of the Wynn Las Vegas.  Encore's grand opening was on December
22nd 2008 which happened to be my birthday.  Initially named the Encore suites at
Wynn Las Vegas, this 2034 room hotel cost 2.3 billion. Although Encore is
connected to the Wynn resort and shares its resources, it has become a full-scale
resort of its own. After 2 1/2 years of construction Encore opened to a large crowd
and Steve Wynn gave a few million dollars to his high-roller guests to make the
initial bets. Steve started the casino games by declaring over the PA system "let
the games begin" which was then accompanied by a recording of Frank Sinatra
singing "Luck Be a Lady Tonight". Encore has raised the bar with elegance and
style for all resorts in Las Vegas.
Casino-Encore has a 74,000 sq ft casino, with 95 gaming tables and 860 slot machines. The butterfly motif represents good luck.
Restaurants and lounges
Pools-Encore has two pools and jacuzzi, a main family pool and a European style pool. This beautiful pool area is nestled between the two towers and
surrounded by flower gardens. Bungalow-style cabanas overlook the European style pool. The Island Bar provides refreshments and black Jack.
